Barbara Lapointe est une artiste autodidacte basée à Montréal (Québec) détenant une maîtrise en bibliothéconomie de l’Université McGill. Elle a travaillé comme bibliothécaire dans des bibliothèques publiques, scolaires, universitaires et spécialisées au Canada et aux États-Unis. Militante dévouée pour le bien-être animal depuis plus de 25 ans, Barbara s’est tournée vers l’art en 2021 à l’aube de la cinquantaine, cherchant une libération créative face à l’intensité émotionnelle de son travail militant. La simplicité volontaire et la réduction des déchets sont au cœur de sa vie et de sa pratique.
Barbara Lapointe is a self-taught artist based in Montreal (Quebec) with a master’s degree in library studies from McGill University. She has worked as a librarian across public, school, university, and specialized libraries in Canada and the United States. A dedicated animal welfare advocate for over 25 years, Barbara turned to art in 2021 at the dawn of her 50s, seeking creative release from the emotional intensity of her advocacy work. Voluntary simplicity and waste reduction are central to her life and practice.
